I’ve never been driven by fame or recognition. Runemagick has always been about creating the music I want to hear, recording it the way I feel it should sound, and releasing it with complete artistic freedom.
That said, it’s always motivating to know that there are people out there who genuinely connect with what I create. Seeing Cycle of the Dying Sun (Dawn of Ashen Realms) included in Rolling Stone’s list of The 15 Best Metal Albums of 2025 was definitely unexpected, but also a very pleasant surprise.
For a small underground project like Runemagick, being acknowledged by this kind of media feels both surreal and rewarding.
