Domedag is a small, clandestine entity buried deep in the underground – a creation of Nicklas Rudolfsson, slowly taking form in the shadows of the early 2000s. Neither bound nor tamed by rigid genre definitions, the project drifts between dark ambient and the raw essence of metal, forging soundscapes steeped in weight and void. It is not music for the masses, but an invocation for those who seek beneath the soil.
Throughout the years, Domedag has surfaced in fractured glimpses — rough, unpolished demo recordings echoing through the underground. The most notable sessions, recorded between 2016 and 2017, carried a bleak, blackened metal presence with lyrics in Swedish. These spectral remnants were later revived, first under the name Domedagen (CD, Nirucon Productions), then re-emerging as an expanded, remixed version titled Nu Nalkas Domedagen (compilation CD, Archaic Sound). These are not albums in any traditional sense, but rather unearthed fragments—unfinished visions (aka demo sessions) shared with those who listen in the dark.
As of now, Domedag lingers in a state of dormancy — but not death. No official debut has been summoned, only scattered demos, reworked and reshaped. The future remains uncertain, its path obscured. Should inspiration strike, the project may yet stir and rise to the stage – but until then, the echoes of Nicklas’ other musical endeavors can be found at nirucon.se.
