SALTAS manifests as raw and unfiltered underground noise, emerging from shadowed dimensions of decay, misery and dissolution. Formed in 2017 by C.J. and N.R., the project channels a stripped down yet forceful sonic expression built on percussion, guitar and voices alone.
Though both members have long been active within the underground, SALTAS marks their first collaboration in this particular constellation. Their combined legacy spans projects such as Irkallian Oracle, Karnarium, Cerekloth, The Funeral Orchestra, Runemagick and Gravfraktal, all echoing through the sonic DNA of SALTAS.
The earliest recordings surfaced between late 2017 and early 2018 with the demos CURRENTS and PARASITES, followed by PROMO MMXVIII, a limited tape release capturing five tracks of primitive intensity. Selections from these sessions later re emerged as bonus material across various editions.
The debut album MORS SALIS | OPUS I was recorded in 2019 and released in 2020 through NWN! Productions, a work that further solidified the project’s identity, ritualistic, corrosive and uncompromising.
Later that same year, THE SEIZE | OPUS II was released on cassette via Impure Wedding Productions and digitally through Bandcamp, with a CD edition handled by Ablaze Productions.
